I'm in Heathrow airport on the way to Kenya. I'm going to rent a church or
school hall, black out the windows, rent a projector and show the movie to
everyone who participated. It will be the village's first movie premiere!
I'm especially excited to show the kids who we filmed. I can't believe it
has been over two years since we finished shooting. I really hope they like
the film...

What I would give to be there. I'm so curious as to how everyone will react to the film.
ReplyDeleteSafe trip!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE that you're showing the doc to kids who were in it! I'm basically positive that they'll like it, too! I was in Kenya teaching for two months this year, at a primary school; I got some rought footage of my students, and they never got tired of watching it over, and over, and over.
You're doing a wonderful thing, returning to show them the doc. I'm sure they'll be thrilled to see themselves, their village in it, and there must be GREAT benefit in keeping a relationship with them like that.
Jennifer, you must be so busy, but if I could ask/discuss a few things with you, I'd be HUGELY grateful. I can be found & contacted from my kateinkenya.livejournal.com blog. Cheers!

I have never read this part of the movies blogs since all this time. (I guess I did not know much about internet.) It made me nostalgic and I just don't know how to react to this. It is now almost six years since this movie was made and I am so grateful to have featured in this.
ReplyDeleteI love it and love all what it is doing to the community around me and also the great help H.B.E.F is getting as a result. (Kimani)
